Observe
Rotate the board, identify the components and follow their connections on the schematic.
ELECTRONICS. INVESTIGATION. CREATION.
Step inside a 3D electronics workshop. Find what’s wrong, understand why… then build circuits of your own.
€7.99 in France · One purchase. The whole game.
One circuit. Several suspects. Let the measurements guide you.
WATCH. UNDERSTAND. TRY.
Step into the workshop, place the components and light your first LED. Then change the resistor: the current drops. A small experiment. A real discovery.

The open-ended workshop offers a 3D workbench with the board and instruments. You can explore it from different angles.
On the breadboard, the sequence places a wire, a 330 Ω resistor, an LED and a return wire. Switching on the 5 V supply lights the LED. Replacing the resistor with 1 kΩ reduces the current, which is reflected in the circuit diagnostics.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO KNOW IT ALL TO BEGIN
Finding the answer is only part of the pleasure. Understanding why your circuit works is the real reward.
Rotate the board, identify the components and follow their connections on the schematic.
Open a lesson or datasheet, read a resistor’s colour bands, or take a measurement.
Choose a component, test your idea and see what changes. Keep exploring in your own workshop.
On iPhone, landscape gives your circuit more room. On iPad, spread out on the larger workbench.
FOLLOW YOUR CURIOSITY
Follow a mission, or follow an idea. Choose your way to play.
01 / OBSERVE · MEASURE · DEDUCE
An LED that won’t light. An unexpected voltage. A signal that has changed. Examine the board from every angle and use measurements to narrow down the suspects.
02 / EXPLORE · EXPERIMENT
Settle into your workshop. Get hands-on with the instruments, explore circuits and practise diagnosis and repair. Take the time to understand what’s happening.
03 / IMAGINE · BUILD · TEST
Place components on the breadboard, connect the wires and switch on the power. Change your circuit and watch how its behaviour changes.
YOUR FIRST LIGHTBULB MOMENT
The battery supplies 3 V. The LED uses 2 V and needs a current of 10 mA. Which resistor will light it at the intended current?
There is 1 V across the resistor: 3 V − 2 V. Ohm’s law gives R = V ÷ I. Remember to convert 10 mA to 0.01 A.
This small experiment illustrates the idea. In the game, you handle the circuits, consult datasheets and take your own measurements.
Select a value to see what changes in the circuit.
THE RIGHT TOOLS, WHEN YOU NEED THEM
A measurement becomes a clue. A datasheet explains what you see. Reason your way forward, one discovery at a time.
Measure voltage, current, resistance and continuity.
Compare input and output, and follow changes in the signal.
Change the signal and observe how the circuit responds.
Explore voltage and current limiting.
See what your eyes alone cannot.
Lessons, datasheets, hints and a calculator with π and 1/x keep the information you need within reach.
ONE PURCHASE. THE WHOLE GAME.
All missions and the open-ended workshop in one purchase. Explore on iPhone, or spread out on the bigger screen of your iPad.

BEFORE YOU STEP INSIDE
You start with resistors, LEDs and your first measurements. Lessons, datasheets and hints help along the way. Later missions gradually require more reasoning and calculation.
Missions give you a specific objective and unlock as you progress. Your workshop lets you explore the tools, practise and build your own circuits on a virtual breadboard.
The full game: all 73 missions, the workshop, instruments, lessons, datasheets and calculator. No in-app purchase or subscription is required to unlock these features. The price in France is €7.99; check the App Store for pricing in your region.
No physical electronics equipment is needed. After downloading, the game works offline without an account. It is an educational simulation: components and measurements are modelled for learning.
Circuit Detective is designed for iPhone and iPad running iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 or later. The game is available in English and French.
Progress, settings and circuits are stored locally. Progress does not sync between devices. If you run into a problem, contact support before deleting the app.
